Previously I posted a blog on Impactful Products www.impactfulproducts.com that articulated a product failure: the Pontiac Aztek. Pontiac made multiple mistakes and ultimately the automaker was a victim of recent major cuts at General Motors. They ignored customer needs at your peril, which led to their demise.
That post (part II) is at http://impactfulproducts.com/when-product-management-fails-bad-things-happen-part-2/. If you’re a product manager or marketer it will make you laugh, cry and think about how important market research is in the product development process.
The ultimate irony? Just before Growth Nation was started, I was involved in a study for GM to determine the production capability if sales happened to be higher than expected. We all know what happened: they were not.
I encourage you to learn more at Impactful Products.
