Marketing is not all that complicated. Attract prospects, interact with them in a way that fleshes out a potential relationship, and act one way or another.
Of course on the way to simplicity, it’s easy to get complicated.
Companies get off track by not knowing their best targets and not getting in front of them effectively. Companies can also interact ineffectively on the way to converting or moving on. Finally companies don’t always act appropriately from the interaction. For instance, saying ‘no’ or just ‘keeping in touch’ is sometimes better than moving forward right then.
Tips for keeping things simple…
1) Attract… the right targets and get in front of them effectively.
2) Interact... in a consistent way with what’s right for you, and what your best targets need.
3) Act… to complete the sale, or pause, and manage the prospect (or new customer) going forward.
Boil things down to a few simple elements… and especially know your best prospects and customers. Tailor your actions to the magic between what you have and what they need, and take things step by step.
