We were honored to have Consul General of Japan Junichi Ihara at Growth Nation on June 16, 2011 to update Arizona-based business owners on the recovery of Japan.
The information shared by the Consul General was inspiring – as Japan once again has displayed the ‘Ganbaroo spirit‘ to rally and recover. Consul General Ihara thanked Americans for their support through the crisis including contributions to the Tomodachi Fund. Japan is coming back!
One of the most enlightening moments was the explanation of what actually happened at the crippled nuclear power station and the impact on the future of energy sources for Japan. Check out the attached presentation especially the slides showing the diagram of the nuclear reactor when the tsunami hit AND the one showing what had been the forecast of energy sources.
Until the disaster, nuclear power had been forecast to increase from 26% to 50% as a source of electricity, but that will change, as the presentation illustrates.
