Croatia Consul General

Consul General of Croatia Ilija Želalić visited Growth Nation February 7th to discuss business opportunities for U.S. companies with Croatia.

Consul General Ilija Želalić holds B.S. degrees in Trade, Transport and Communication, and in Engineering. He is fluent in English, French, Italian, and Arabic, conversational. His diplomatic mission began in 1993 as the Head of the Economic Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European integration of the Republic of Croatia. Preceding his post in Los Angeles, he served in several Croatian Embassies, including Algiers, Italy, France and Morocco. The Consul General also has experience working in the private sector, having brokered the Liner Department of the International Shipping/ Forwarding Agency, while representing several foreign shipping companies.

This event was co-sponsored by the Arizona Council for International Visitors (AZCIV). In 1992 current President of Croatia Ivo Josipovic came to Arizona as part of the International Visitor Leadership Program. He met with government and business leaders along with AZCIV members to discuss a variety of topics. Upon his return to Croatia, we ran for the National Assembly – and won.
